Nungwi and it’s Raw Beauty

We had about a hour drive to the north of the Island of Zanzibar. We passed through many villages on our way. It seemed to be very different from what we imagined.
We drove through a village that sits right outside the gates of our hotel. We had never experienced this in previous travels.

The hotel was a bit of a disappointment, however Rob and I really want to make the best of it so time to shrug it off and capture the best of it.

We had an outstanding dinner and the presentation of the plates was full of details I appreciated so much.
The Amarula cake was so delicious we even ordered it the following day.

As days move forward we were delighted the tide was high & swept away the enormous bunches of seaweed that were piled high on the beach.
Dhows sit in the waters most of the day. They are all so different from one another and are beautiful to watch coming & going. It is a little uneasy to see when they are overloaded with passengers going snorkeling and or diving.
I’m thankful to see them arrive back safe and sound.

It was great to capture the beautiful women & children with their large fishing net walking the beach in the shallow part of the water.
Their clothing was so bold & bright… Just what imagined
– it was a lovely moment to watch
