My passion for dinner parties and making sure the details are impeccable…
It all started with a beautiful purple jewel tone nail polish my girlfriend was using special for her anniversary. It was such a spectacular fall color it inspired me to find a way to use it.
As I have so many unique plants in my yard (previous owners owned a nursery). I have these beautiful bright purple berries in bloom.
It all began…
This evening while husband was away at “Dads Weekend” I had a girlfriend staying from out of town and also invited a few girls over for a “test run” on a slide show from our trip.
I had made chicken enchiladas. Adapted from my sister in law which is a excellent cook and over the top baker. I tweaked it and can’t wait to share with her.
I had to make the girls one of my favorite drinks as well: Skinny girl margaritas! Always a crowd pleaser.
Dessert was another fall inspired recipe and everyone always raves about: Pumpkin Cheesecake Gingersnap Bars-so delicious!
To much of a surprise we ended up having a early birthday celebration for me. My girlfriends know me to well and gave me such incredible gifts. They all know my love for creating culinary eats. Also, my girlfriend De we have endless conversations about our skin.
Authentic salts, new Foolproof cookbook (one of my favorite chefs), & Pure Jojoba oil.
I was so thankful and so full of joy in how special they all made me feel.
Saturday started off with a early soccer game. Bren and the Eagles did an amazing job. I’m always so amazed as each game they become better, work so hard together and the techniques they have learned over the season are showing and improving each week.
I always adore our friends son Dane. He cheers the team on, sings, dances as lives life to the fullest. I captured him taking it all in and loving the beautiful fall leaves.
It was low 30’s and the first frost of the season. The day was brisk but so bright & beautiful. A walk was a must for the afternoon.
Tradition for my birthday dinner with my close girlfriend is always King Crab Legs-Beyond delicious is the only way to describe them.
Roasted elephant garlic, Dave’s killer baguette, and dessert pumpkin pie with vanilla bean whipping cream!
Movie time with the boys…we all snuggled in, dimmed the lights and Jaden shared “dad turns the sound up to 65t”
Birthday celebrations carried into Sunday at Shakabrah. As I’m very particular it one place I do frequent if we go out.
We met my parents and by such a surprise they treated us. Unexpected and very thankful.
Breakfast was delightful, however the laughter, love & joy that surrounded me was what meant the most.
Weekend was so memorable and I will always cherish my family & friends for making me feel so special.
