I always want to give something with meaning and so much love.
My granola has been a hit with my family and my close walking friend.
I knew it was something I should share with close friends & family this holiday season.
Adapted from researching so many blogs & recipes
Healthy Granola
1 jar unsweetened applesauce
1 cup real maple syrup
4 Cups of Oatmeal
3/4 Cup of flaxseed meal
1 Cup pepitos seeds
1 Cup sliced or silvered almonds
1 Cup chopped walnuts
1T vanilla (a good one)
1T cinnamon
1T nutmeg
1 bag of dried wild blueberries (I buy Trader Joes) or 1-2 Cups of your favorite dried fruit
Preheat oven 300 convection bake
In a saucepan on medium low mix applesauce & maple syrup
Stirring occasionally
Continue about 10 min or until the graininess is gone from the applesauce
Remove from heat mix in cinnamon & nutmeg & vanilla
While its cooling mix all ingredients except dried berries
Line two cookie sheets with parchment
Bake 45 min to an hour with tossing every 15 minutes to add crunch consistently
After baking add in the dried fruit and mix
Let stand at least a full hour before storing in containers
I love making granola! But I eat so much of it right as it comes out of the oven that I never end up with enough to share…
I know that feeling! I did triple the batch for the first time. Thanks for sharing!
That’s smart! If only my oven was big enough to do triple batches… Then I wouldn’t feel so guilty for eating it straight from the pan!
Thank you for sharing
