Outdoor living-space before/after photos

Our outdoor living space has been a work in progress since 2013. It was well worth the wait. He finished it this past December.

The photos show his level of design talents and also impeccable attention to detail.

I’m forever grateful for all his hard-work and creating exactly what I dreamed of.

DSC_2259 DSC_2260It started in summer 2013 with help from our very good friend Darin

DSC_2263They pulled all the stone pavers and started digging and getting the space ready for the cement slab

DSC_7676The ceiling is tongue & groove with a stain with a warmer brown hue to tie in the beams we have added to the front of our house.

IMG_0666I asked him to do a chevron pattern wood wall. I did not realize the time that would have to go into this. Measuring every piece that goes up

DSC_7923 (1)It truly blew me away… better than I ever imagined. I knew with the wood tongue and groove ceiling I wanted to white wash the chevron wall to give it a cooler tone.

DSC_0544Matching the chevron wall he built cabinet doors by hand to tie in. We white washed the wood as well.

Built in our Fontana Forni pizza oven from Italy

DSC_0547He also built my farm table out of extra wood we had from this project. I stained it grey and we added the clavos. It is stunning!

A few photos of the process:

DSC_0554Here is the finished outdoor space.

DSC_0563Living in the Pacific Northwest we really thought out the space and added heat into the beams.

DSC_0552He also wrapped the gas fire pit and made a ledge for glasses. We still need to white wash it.

IMG_0579We love starting our weekend mornings here

DSC_0502Also dinners watching the sunset with our boys

It may have taken several years to complete, however it was even better than I could have ever dreamed.

We use and enjoy our outdoor living-space daily; sun, rain, clouds… The weather does not stop us from being outdoors.

I’m so blessed to have such a talented best friend, husband and the most amazing father to our children.
