Richard’s most favorite place to take friends & family is The Winelands. We did not plan to visit the Western Cape as traveling with young boys.
After he said there is much more than wine and it’s beautiful countryside. Also his knowledge of the boys love for exploring he knew the right wineries to take us to so we could all enjoy ourselves. -Only thing that put a damper on the day is my battery died on my camera.
*All photos winelands on are iphone photos.
Before we headed to The Winelands we went to one of the most e gardens. Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden is world renowned for the beauty and diversity of the Cape flora it displays and for the magnificence of its setting against the eastern slopes of Table Mountain.

Raw beauty in every step
Welcome to the Tree Canopy Walkway
This was a nature lovers dream! Not only are you over the gardens you can see views over the eastern slopes of Table Mountain across the Cape Flats to the Hottentots Holland Mountains in the distance. Truly just so beautiful
The Winelands “Western Cape”
It is divided into six main wine regions, each offering its own unique wine route. Constantia, Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, Paarl, Robertson and Wellington are the most popular.
The Cape Winelands and their cultural landscape were added to the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List on June 24, 2004 in the Cultural category.
